About the Role
JMC Aviation is recruiting experienced Woodworkers to support an ongoing aerospace project in Italy.
This is an excellent opportunity for skilled woodworkers with experience in cutting, joining and assembling wooden panels and structures, particularly those with experience producing protective wooden packaging or shipping crates for large and heavy components.
Key Responsibilities
- Cutting and preparing timber and wooden panels to required specifications.
- Joining and assembling wooden panels and structures.
- Building robust wooden shipping boxes and crates for the safe transportation of large and heavy aircraft components.
- Ensuring packaging provides adequate protection during handling and transportation.
- Working accurately to drawings, dimensions and technical instructions.
- Using appropriate woodworking techniques and hand tools.
- Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and quality.
- Maintaining strong FOD awareness and a clean, safe working environment.
- Following all applicable site, safety and security procedures.
Machinery and tools will be provided by the customer.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
- Proven experience as a Woodworker, Carpenter, Joiner or similar.
- Strong experience cutting, joining and assembling wooden structures.
- Experience building wooden crates, boxes, shipping cases or protective packaging.
- Ability to work accurately to measurements, drawings and technical instructions.
- Good understanding of workplace safety and quality standards.
- Willingness to complete and maintain mandatory aerospace/site training, including:
- FOD
- HF
- SMS
- MAL/NAM
- EWIS
- FTS
- MMOE
- MANMAN
- Must comply with applicable Italian safety requirements, including D.Lgs 81/2008 and DPCM 6 Nov 2015 n.5.
- Own transport required for movement around the base.
- Right to work in the EU.
Desirable:
- Previous experience working within an aerospace, aviation, manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience producing packaging for large or heavy machinery/components.
- Experience working from technical drawings or specifications.
- Previous experience working on an aircraft production or MRO site.
