About the Role
JMC Aviation is recruiting experienced Aircraft TIG Welders to support an ongoing aerospace project in Italy.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced aerospace welders with a strong background in TIG welding thin-gauge aerospace sheet metal, aircraft component repair and working to strict aerospace quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- TIG welding thin aerospace sheet metal.
- Welding steel, stainless steel and aluminium alloys down to approximately 0.7 mm.
- Repairing aircraft components, including:
- Engine exhaust ducts
- Rear cuffs
- Air intakes
- Working in accordance with manufacturer repair schemes and approved aerospace procedures.
- Carrying out welding work to the required aerospace quality standards.
- Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with applicable technical documentation and procedures.
- Maintaining a high standard of FOD awareness and workplace safety.
- Working in accordance with Italian safety and security requirements.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
- Proven experience as an Aircraft TIG Welder within the aerospace industry.
- TIG welding experience on thin-gauge aerospace sheet metal.
- Experience welding steel, stainless steel and aluminium alloys down to approximately 0.7 mm.
- Experience repairing aircraft components, including engine exhaust ducts, rear cuffs and air intakes.
- Certification to PS-01-SBR, ISO 24394 or equivalent.
- Ability to work to manufacturer repair schemes and approved aerospace procedures.
- Valid aerospace training/certification covering:
- FOD
- HF
- SMS
- MAL/NAM
- EWIS
- FTS
- MMOE
- MANMAN
- Must comply with Italian safety and security requirements.
- Own transport required for movement around the base.
- Right to work in the EU.
Desirable:
- Previous experience working on military or commercial aircraft programmes.
- Experience with aircraft structural and component repairs.
- Experience working within an aircraft production or MRO environment.
- Additional aerospace welding qualifications and approvals.
