Job Purpose
The Planning Engineer is responsible for generating and controlling aircraft maintenance work packages, ensuring regulatory compliance at all times.

Job Accountabilities
The Planning Engineer shall:

  • Generate and issue comprehensive maintenance work packages for production staff in accordance with relevant airworthiness regulations and departmental procedures.
  • Provide costing assistance to the Sales department for labour hour reviews.
  • Create and maintain master work cards and databases for specific projects.
  • Identify subcontracting requirements, spare parts, and tooling requirements.
  • Liaise with internal departments as necessary to provide clear and concise work instructions.
  • Assist the Engineering Support Manager with the daily operation of the Planning Department and support day-to-day production activities.
  • Demonstrate commercial awareness and understand the impact of planning decisions on both customers and the business.
  • Remain flexible and adaptable to rapidly changing operational situations.
  • Work effectively under pressure to meet operational requirements and time constraints.
  • Work independently and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Liaise with the Safety and Compliance department to ensure adherence to company procedures and audit requirements.
  • Assist in promoting compliance and safety awareness throughout the company (training will be provided).

Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge
Experience
Desirable:

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in aircraft maintenance, production planning, or an airline/MRO environment.
  • Experience using MRO software such as:
    • AMOS
    • OASES
    • Rusada
    • or similar maintenance planning systems.

Knowledge and Skills
The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate:

  • Technical aviation experience with a sound understanding of airworthiness regulations.
  • Working knowledge of aircraft maintenance planning (desirable).
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • High level of computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
