About the Role
On behalf of our client, an established aviation maintenance and support organisation headquartered in Malta, we are recruiting for Technical Crew Members to operate out of Gozo. Key Responsibilities
The Role:
- Assist the pilot in preparing and securing the aircraft for flight.
- Support the medical crew in loading and unloading patients and medical equipment.
- Act as the safety person during engine starts and operational tasks.
- Fly onboard the helicopter during missions to assist with operations.
- Maintain the general upkeep of the base, including the office, workshop, store, and helipad.
- Provide assistance to visiting engineers and support maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and operational procedures.
- Submit Safety and Occurrence Reports (SORs) as required.
- Report any issues or hazards promptly to management.
- Uphold company standards of professionalism, teamwork, and safety.
- Foster a proactive HSE environment.
- Perform any other duties commensurate with the skills, competencies, qualifications, and experience of the employee that the company may require from time to time.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
- Strong understanding of aircraft technical systems, equipment, and operational procedures
- Ability to perform technical duties safely and effectively in a fast-paced aviation environment
- Excellent knowledge of aviation safety standards, regulations, and compliance requirements
- Strong situational awareness and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to work closely with pilots, engineers, medical teams, and operational staff
- Ability to follow detailed procedures, checklists, and technical documentation accurately
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively to operational challenges
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in demanding operational environments
- Flexibility to support shift patterns, deployments, and changing operational requirements
- High level of attention to detail and professional discipline
- Strong understanding of risk management and hazard identification
