About the Role
The role holder will report to the Head of Procurement, and the primary purpose of the job will be to source, purchase, and manage parts and equipment for the organization, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and compliance. In addition, ensure all component parts and materials are available to production in order to maximise production output at the best negotiated purchase prices.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize sourcing, supplier selection, and cost efficiency when procuring parts and equipment.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, pricing, and potential suppliers.
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Monitor supplier performance and compliance with contracts.
- Prepare purchase orders, negotiate contracts, and ensure procurement activities align with budgetary constraints and company policies.
- Approve purchases and maintain accurate records of transactions.
- Monitor stock levels, forecast demand, and coordinate with Stores or production teams to maintain adequate inventory while minimizing carrying costs.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Work closely with internal departments such as finance, operations, and production to align procurement with business needs.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with legal, regulatory, and company standards.
- Prepare budgets, cost analyses, and procurement reports.
- Adheres to all Company standard operating procedures
- Adheres to all health and safety procedures
- Meets customer service and quality standards
- Ensures all administration and systems inputs meets agreed standards
Candidate Requirements
The candidate will have had a similar role in an Aviation MRO with a proven track record of success
A qualification in procurement is desirable but not essential
Excellent communication, strong negotiation and contract management skills are essential
Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft office suite
Valid UK Right to work
