About the Role
The role holder will report to the Finance Manager and be responsible for general accounting duties including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers and account and bank reconciliations. The business have a significant level of USD and Euro denominated transactions both in sales and purchasing. Assisting with monthly closings and account analysis and supporting the Finance Manager in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department. The business uses Xero Accounting software and Aerotrac, an industry recognised process control software.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries
- Complete general ledger operations
- Assist with reconciliation, maintenance and closing of general ledger accounts
- Assist with preparation of monthly financial reports
- Prepare analysis of accounts as requested
- Assist with year-end closings
- Administer accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Assist with third party data requests, e.g. National Surveys
- Assist with payroll administration
- Monitor and resolve bank issues including fee anomalies and check differences
- Account/bank reconciliations
- Review and process expense reports
- Assist with preparation and coordination of the Statutory Accounts preparation by the external accountants
- Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures
Candidate Requirements
Candidates would be part qualified (ACCA, ATT, CIMA or equivalent)
Have a minimum of 4 years’ experience of working within an accounting role similar to that detailed in the responsibilities
