JMC Aviation have recently deployed a four man team of Sheet Metal Workers to support a customer based in Europe fix an urgent repair required on Airbus aircraft.
The lateral window frames at frame four of these Airbus aircraft (A320 family) had a finding that needed to be repaired. After close inspection and evaluation of all three windows, it was found that the required repairs were outside of the allowable limits to be carried out, resulting in the window frame needing replacing entirely.
On aircraft one, the team had to replace the right-hand frame 4 Lateral post of an Airbus A319. This included the removal and installation of the right-hand lateral skin for access.
On aircraft two, the team had to replace the right-hand and the left hand frame 4 lateral posts on an Airbus A320.
