JMC Aviation are working with a Maintenance Repair Organisation based in Chester, looking to recruit a Technical Planning Engineer to join their team.

This is a Permanent Position based in Chester working 8am – 4:30pm, Monday – Friday.

The Role
The successful applicant will be creating and maintaining all maintenance inputs as well as Base/Line projects, Engine BSI projects, modification projects, refurbishment projects, aircraft repainting projects and component repair work project packages. Ensuring that all work packages are in compliance with regulation and OEM technical.
 
The responsibilities of the Technical Planning Engineer will involve:


– Displaying the ability to interpret OEM and technical documentations, AMM, AIPC, CMM, DRAWINGS, etc.
– Assisting in the management of aircraft maintenance projects, modification projects, refurbishment projects, Engine BSI projects, aircraft repainting projects and component repair projects to protect the critical path
– Communicating with customers at a professional level in relation to relevant projects planning, ensuring that the requested work scope is received, understood and translatable into a functional work package
– Producing work packages in line with the customers’ requirements to ensure; GSE, spares, tooling, manpower and third-party service requirements are identified, ordered and available prior the aircraft scheduled downtime
– Communicating with approved third-party vendors for the arrangement of services to make sure their attendance and time estimates fall within the requirements to maintain the critical path
– Coordinating Part-21 Design Organisations to engineer and support customer requests for aircraft modification, refurbishment, repainting, ensuring documentation meets the requirements of NAA regulatory and IAW company approvals / capabilities
– Preparing and chairing internal pre-input review meetings with all departments, (Commercial, Maintenance Operations & Logistics / Purchasing, Quality Assurance, etc.) in line with company requirements
– Supporting pre-input review meeting with customers to discuss incoming defects and customer specific requirements
– Coordinating acceptance of aircraft into maintenance
– Providing support assistance which identifies and proactively resolves critical path issues which could affect the aircraft input schedule (Technical support requests with OEM’s, material / parts suppliers, etc.)
– Supporting the provision to our customers updates on the project progress daily (or at agreed frequencies) during aircraft maintenance, modification, refurbishment, aircraft repainting and component repair projects
– Supporting Logistics for instruction required by any shipping agents with aircraft Import and Export procedure for  relevant projects
– Supporting Logistics for instruction required by any component repair agents / vendors for repair / over-haul procedures in support for relevant projects and spares requirements
– Supporting any reviews of the aircraft library, e.g. Technical Log, Deferral Log, etc. during an input and upon release to service
– Generating documentation and supporting “C Release” certifying staff through the return to service stage of aircraft project (maintenance, modification, refurbishment, Engine BSI aircraft repainting projects and component repair projects) as required
– Supporting improvements in all activities to maximise productivity and minimise cost
– Maintaining all required log-in details to either company specific software applications, OEM technical data web sites, customer derived web site platforms, etc.
– Communicating / E-mail all stake holders / relevant parties of any tech data revisions / amendments
– Maintaining over watch on all electronic information platforms (Group e-mails, etc.)
– Maintaining company MRO platform software is up to date with all planned, current projects
– Maintaining and manage “feedback” from all work packages (Anomalies and Suggestions) ensuring actions taken as required in a timely manner
– Supporting and assist in Regulatory (both NAA and internal Quality and Compliance audits) inclusive of resolving findings
– Supporting and assist or prepare quotations (proposals) for the cost of completing customer work scopes / work requests
– Performing any other reasonable duties within his/her capabilities as directed by the company (with consideration of the above list being an inexhaustible list)
 
In order to be successful in this role, the Technical Planning Engineer will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
– Previous experience within aviation maintenance, (modification, refurbish and repair organisations)
– Excellent understanding of aviation regulatory requirements. EASA, UK CAA, NAA REGULATORS (Part 145, Part M, Part CAMO, Part 21, etc.)
– Understanding of company MOE, procedures, rules / regulations
– Flexibility to travel when / if required
– Knowledge of ENVISION MRO SOFTWARE desirable (or experience with similar MRO Software Platforms)
– EWIS, FTS and Human Factors training course certificates
