An exciting opportunity has arisen within the JMC Aviation, the world’s leading Aviation Engineering, Training & recruitment business.
Based in near Exeter Airport, we are now seeking a new Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance Team.
Job Purpose:
To provide timely management information for all global companies within the JMC group, along with other financial analysis as required. To take ownership for weekly reporting and month-end journals whilst supporting the Management Accountant to ensure an efficient and effective service is provided within the company and to external stakeholders.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting with production of weekly and monthly Management Reports within agreed Management Information Pack structure
- Production and feedback of departmental performance analysis vs budget
- Analysis and reporting on variances, highlighting key deviations
- Production and review of KPI’s
- Support with the maintenance and monitoring of rolling P&L and Balance Sheet forecast
- Assist with the annual budget-setting process, in collaboration with the Management Accountant and key stakeholders.
- Oversee Balance Sheet Reconcilliations
- Oversee useage of company Expense portal
- Oversight of weekly payroll / sales journals
- Production of company VAT and Sales Tax returns, ensuring that all transactions are reported correctly across all jurisdictions
- Support with the provision of information for audits
- Assistance with Credit control to ensure company invoices are paid within terms
- Support with the application for credit insurances
- Other duties as directed by Line Manager
Person Specification
Essential:
- Proven experience in a similar role
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organisational skills
- High level of confidentiality
- Willingness to always develop skills and knowledge
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to work accurately and methodically with attention to detail
- High level of numeracy and ability to deal accurately with calculations of a complex nature
- Ability to organise, schedule and adapt work tasks to meet conflicting deadlines and respond to changing situations
Desirable:
- Previous experience with Sage 50 Accounts
- Previous experience with Xero Accounting
- Previous experience within a Global entity
Qualifications:
- Essential for candidate to be part qualified to CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent
