JMC Aviation are working with a component repair company based in Saffron Walden, looking to recruit a new Seat Bay Mechanic to join their team.
This client specialises in component repairs for a wide range of commercial aircraft from electrical to mechanical and interior to welding. This is a Permanent Position based in Saffron Walden.

The Role
The Seat Bay Mechanic will be responsible for disassembling, cleaning, inspecting, repairing, part replacement and re-assembly of aircraft seats in order to reduce costs and add value to our customers.
Other duties involve:
– Inspection and diagnosis of seat repairs and parts replacement requirements
– Disassembly and cleaning of aircraft seat sets
– Repair and parts replacement of aircraft seats
– Reassembly of aircraft seat sets to required standards and timeframe
– Work in accordance with technical publications
– Correlate all work carried out in accordance with part 145 requirements.
Skills and experience required.
In order to be successful in this role the Seat Bay mechanic will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
– Experience with trimming and upholstery in an aviation or automotive manufacturing.
– Understanding of technical publications.
– Knowledge of commercial aerospace practices are desirable
– IT literate with a willingness to learn an industry software package (Aerotrac)
– Experience within the aviation sector would be desirable but not essential
– Right to live and work in the UK
