Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and support the Inspection & Quality team, managing workload across Quality Engineers and ensuring actions are completed promptly and to the required standard.
- Develop and maintain the company Quality strategy, policies, processes, standards, and systems across the business and supply chain.
- Ensure compliance with ISO accreditation requirements (including ISO9001 / AS9100 where applicable), and support internal/external audits—liaising with auditors and closing out any open findings efficiently.
- Produce inspection documentation, including inspection reports and FAIRs (First Article Inspection Reports).
- Control non-conformities, drive MRB activity, and manage NCR communications with internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate quality records, ensuring documents are kept up to date and archived in line with requirements.
- Monitor production activity, carry out periodic Quality Control checks, and implement continuous improvements to raise overall product quality.
- Investigate root causes of quality issues, propose and implement corrective actions, and collaborate with team leaders on practical solutions.
- Verify supplier materials and assure quality prior to incorporation into the product.
- Train and mentor staff (including onboarding new Quality team members) and provide additional training as required
Qualifications / prerequisites
- Previous technical experience in a manufacturing environment, with proven experience in a quality-focused role.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO9001 and AS9100 quality standards.
- Experience with audits (hosting and completing), MRB processes, root cause analysis, and problem-solving techniques.
- Confident using ERP systems and standard tools (Excel, Word) plus Q-Pulse (or similar QMS systems).
- Strong communication and team leadership skills; results-focused with a drive to deliver high standards.
