JMC Aviation are working with a CNC Fabrication company based in Bishops Stortford, looking to recruit a new Maintenance Assistant (Nights) to join their team.
This client offers a range of surface treatments and non destructive testing, creating aerospace components using CNC Machines to fabricate sheet metal. This family run company provide an outstanding customer service and helping their employees progress within their roles.
This is a Permanent Position based in Bishops Stortford.
Working Monday – Thursday (19:00 – 03:30) and Friday (19:00 – 02:30).

The Role
The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for performing general duties to ensure the smooth operation of CNC machine tools. This includes maintaining coolant levels, managing tooling and fixtures, keeping work areas tidy and safe, and booking in goods.
Other duties involve:
– Ensure machinists have the coolant at the required levels and concentrations.
– Tidy loose swarf from the shop floor, yard, and around the hangar, and manage the disposal of swarf bins.
– Operate and maintain the coolant recycling plant to keep concentrations optimal.
– Ensure workspaces are kept clean, tidy, and safe.
– Move pallets around the facility as needed.
– Empty waste bins and ensure proper disposal.
– Washroom Maintenance: Keep washrooms clean at all times.
– Clean down CNC machine tools as required.
– Collect used fixtures, return them to Stores, and book them in and out as necessary.
– Assist the Stores department as required, including the booking in of deliveries.
In order to be successful in this role the Maintenance Assistant will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
– Must be aware of health and safety requirements within a manufacturing environment.
– Ability to work independently and use initiative.
– Full clean driving license required.
– Must be able to work overtime, including weekends, as needed.
– A forklift license is preferable but not essential
