JMC are working with an MRO company based in Stansted looking to recruit a new Financial Operations Manager to join their team.
This client is an international line and base maintenance provider, operating a comprehensive level of support for commercial aircraft operators. As an independent MRO, they are able to adapt their approach to respond to rapidly changing requirements and provide services which include component repairs, overhauls, piece part manufacture, aircraft fuel tank repairs, aircraft maintenance, aircraft interiors and AOG support.

This is a 14 month Fixed Term Contact based in Stansted. Ideally starting in July to work alongside the current employee in this position for 2 months training and handover, then a full year in the position until September 2025.
The role is hybrid requiring travel to the office a minimum of 2 days per week, working Monday to Thursday 08:30 – 17:00 and Friday 08:30 – 14:30.

The Role
The primary purpose of this role is to oversee the financial accounting of the business and its subsidiaries.
Other Duties Involve
– Overseeing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and industry standards
– Managing Finance Team responsible for AP, AR, payroll and expenses
– Leading projects to improve accounting processes and systems
– Leading month-end closing process, ensuring balance sheet reconciliations are prepared and reviewed
– Managing accounting of overseas subsidiaries
– Leading certain month-end closing tasks (fixed assets ledger, accrued costs, deferred charges, IFRS16 adjustments etc.)
In order to be successful in this role the Financial Operations Manager will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes
– Experience as a Senior Accountant in hands-on and broad-based role
– Professional finance qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA etc.)
– Proven experience of managing and coaching a team
– Knowledge of IFRS, UK financial reporting requirements and tax system
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders and contribute to strategic discussions
– Knowledge of financial software and tools (e.g. ERP systems, Excel)
– Right to live and work in the UK
