On behalf of our client, a leading organisation in the aviation industry, we are currently recruiting for an Estimator to support their quoting and pricing activities. Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing detailed cost estimates for aircraft maintenance, repairs, inspections, modifications, and overhauls.
  • Accurately assess labour, parts, tooling, materials, and subcontracted services required for each project.
  • Coordinating with engineers, technicians, and procurement teams to gather necessary technical data and input for accurate cost projections.
  • Reviewing technical work scopes, maintenance requests, and aircraft service bulletins (SBs), airworthiness directives (ADs), and OEM manuals to ensure the full scope of work is captured in estimates.
  • Ensuring compliance with aviation regulatory standards (FAA, EASA) and internal quality control processes.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for clients during the quoting process, addressing any questions, concerns, or clarifications regarding the estimate.
  • Providing clear, concise, and professional proposals, explaining cost breakdowns and any recommended work.
  • Obtaining quotes from vendors and suppliers for materials, parts, and services required for each estimate.
  • Negotiating favourable terms and pricing with third-party vendors to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Monitoring project costs during the maintenance and repair process to ensure alignment with the original estimate.
  • Investigating any deviations from the original quote and provide recommendations for cost adjustments if necessary.
  • Assisting in maintaining cost databases and historical data for future reference and estimate accuracy.
  • Working closely with the project management team to ensure smooth handover of project details once the estimate is approved.
  • Reporting on estimate accuracy and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Preparing detailed reports for management summarising estimation processes, project profitability, and variance analysis.

Candidate Requirements
Essential:

  • 3-5 years of experience in aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) estimation or similar roles within the aerospace industry.
  • Strong technical understanding of aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working with OEMs, suppliers, and subcontractors in the aviation industry is preferred.
  • Authority to live and work in the UK.

Desirable:

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with clients, internal teams, and vendors.
  • Proficiency in using estimating software and tools, such as Quantum, Corridor, or similar MRO platforms.
