ATR Cargo Conversions

Back to case studies

A European MRO whose approvals cover the ATR and CRJ platforms selected JMC to convert its customer’s ATR 72-500 aircraft passenger into freighter aircraft.

JMC was selected following the historical successes of our base maintenance, modification and structural repair solutions for the ATR with the MRO, as the required conversion included installation of both bulk-load and large cargo door to allow for the loading of standard containers and pallets.

JMC deployed a project manager to coordinate with the planning and maintenance teams of the MRO and determine the scope of the work, the size of the required team and the efficiency savings that would be offered to the MRO by using the solution.

Following successful completion of the works the client could confidently budget and plan for future conversions with their customer and as a result of this; JMC engineers were deployed on a further 5 occasions to undertake similar conversion projects on the ATR platform.

On all 6 occasions JMC’s engineering team completed the work on a fixed price basis with fixed turnaround time.
