JMC Aviation are working with a MRO company based in Manchester, looking to recruit a new Buyer to join their team.
This client is a leading MRO dealing with line and base maintenance as well as interior modifications and fuel systems repair and maintenance for both commercial and military aircraft. The company has been operating for close to 30 years, providing outstanding customer service and encouraging a warm, positive environment to aid employee progression.
This is a Permanent Position based in Manchester.
40 hours per week, working Monday – Friday.

– Sick pay starts from first day at 3 weeks full and 3 weeks half pay, after a years’ service this increases to 6 weeks full and 6 weeks half. 5 years + 12 weeks full, 12 weeks half.

The Role
The primary purpose of this role is to procure goods and materials, working in line with company budget and specification.
Other duties involve:
– Purchase of goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets
– Negotiates contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings
– Ensure all purchased items conform to relevant aviation standards and design specification required to meet airworthiness & customer specification
– Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials
– Communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations
– Maintain a professional and consistent approach in relations to all supplier relationships
– Market research to ensure current suppliers remain competitive
– Support the compliance team on supplier quality audit
– Attend meetings and update others on issues or concerns, in particular when there is a risk which could prevent the organisation meeting customer demands.
Skills and experience required.
In order to be successful in this role the Buyer will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
– Proven purchasing experience, preferably within an aviation environment
– Must be able to qualify for an airside security pass
– Strong negotiation, excellent communicator, interpersonal skills
– Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask
– Ability to work in a fast paced, constantly changing environment
– Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
– Right to live and work in the UK
