JMC Aviation is currently recruiting for an experienced Quality Assurance Supervisor on behalf of a leading private aviation maintenance organization in Red Wing, Wisconsin.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced aviation maintenance professional with a strong Quality Assurance/Inspection background to take on a leadership role supporting a diverse fleet of business aircraft.
The successful candidate will lead a team of QA Inspectors while ensuring maintenance activities meet all applicable FAA regulations, company procedures, OEM requirements, and customer standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop the Quality Assurance and Inspection team.
- Assign daily priorities and ensure inspection resources align with production requirements.
- Ensure compliance with FAA Part 145, Part 43, and applicable Part 91/135 regulations.
- Oversee Required Inspections (RI), buy-back inspections, conformity inspections, hidden damage inspections, and airworthiness determinations.
- Review maintenance documentation, work packages, aircraft records, and return-to-service documentation.
- Support aircraft return-to-service activities and ensure accurate maintenance sign-offs.
- Conduct and support internal audits, corrective and preventive actions, and root-cause investigations.
- Identify opportunities to improve first-pass quality, reduce rework, and minimize repeat discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and audit-ready maintenance and inspection records.
- Act as a key quality representative during FAA inspections, customer audits, and OEM interactions.
- Promote a strong safety culture and support Safety Management System (SMS) and just-culture initiatives.
- Work closely with Production, Maintenance Planning, Maintenance Control, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Mobile Repair Teams.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and performance development of QA personnel.
Required Qualifications
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate – Required
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years of aircraft maintenance experience.
- Minimum 4 years of Quality Assurance and/or Inspection experience.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience within an aviation maintenance or Part 145 Repair Station environment.
- Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and aviation maintenance requirements.
- Strong technical knowledge of turbine-powered aircraft.
- Ability to interpret aircraft maintenance manuals, engineering documentation, and approved technical data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with computerized maintenance tracking or MRO systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred.
- Experience with Bombardier Challenger, Bombardier, Gulfstream, or Cessna Citation aircraft.
- Experience with CAMP, Corridor, ERP, or other MRO systems.
- Experience or training in SMS, Root Cause Analysis, Lean, or Continuous Improvement.
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to reliably commute to the Red Wing, WI facility.
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and computerized maintenance systems.
- Ability to work in an aircraft maintenance environment, including confined spaces and elevated areas.
- Must be able to use ladders, lifts, tugs, and other ground support equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Travel may occasionally be required.
