JMC Aviation are working with an MRO company based in Prestwick, looking to recruit a new Procurement Engineer to join their team.
This client is an international line and base maintenance provider, operating a comprehensive level of support for commercial aircraft operators. As an independent MRO, they are able to adapt their approach to respond to rapidly changing requirements and provide services which include component repairs, overhauls, piece part manufacture, aircraft fuel tank repairs, aircraft maintenance, aircraft interiors and AOG support.

This is a Permanent Position based in Prestwick.
5/5/4 shift pattern, working 12 hour shifts.

The Role
The primary purpose of this role is to liaise with suppliers and engage in order management, customer negotiations, cost and inventory reduction activities or logistics support.
Other Duties Involve
– Procuring all aircraft parts, raw materials and tooling required to support EASA Part 145 regulated MRO
– Liaising directly with the customer/supplier to ensure highest levels of customer service are achieved, expediting orders and ensuring just in time delivery
– Managing, developing and negotiating existing and new sales agreements with suppliers
– Monitoring supplier performance based on approved suppliers list (ASL) and liaise with the quality assurance department to ensure compliance
– Determining levels of inventory to meet organisational metrics
– Negotiating and administering purchase orders in support of production needs
– Working with finance to address any payment issues
– Assisting the organisation for movement of spares, materials and tooling to/from locations
– Reviewing levels of inventory to identify obsolete or excess stock and take necessary steps to reduce inventory
– Managing current approved suppliers’ list
– Ensuring the health & safety policy is maintained in accordance with the company’s safety policy
In order to be successful in this role the Procurement Engineer will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes
– Understanding of regulatory requirements in relation to procurement
– Experience in setting, developing and maintaining procurement department procedures
– Experience in managing departmental health & safety and compliance.
– Demonstratable experience in managing sales agreements and ongoing relationships with suppliers
– Right to live and work in the UK
