Are you an experienced Module Shop Engineering Manager looking for a new permanent position located in Montreal, Canada?
JMC Aviation are looking for a skilled individual with a minimum of 5 years' aviation experience who is available to start as soon as possible.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for supporting The Module Factory™, a dedicated commercial engine maintenance center focused on modular repair and refurbishment of CFM56-7B and CFM56-5B engines and modules.
Based on-site, this person will be responsible for determining the technical requirements for each module received and effectively ensuring those requirements are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner.
This individual will be responsible for day-to-day technical management of all Module Factory maintenance activities and active engagement with shop personnel to ensure performance objectives are achieved. This position is required to be on-site 5 days per week.
Other specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
-Ownership of work scope including work instructions, configuration management, and deviation approvals
-Monitor module completion status through a consistent presence on the shop floor
-Interact with customers, vendors, shop personnel and management to support technical inquiries
-Review and document shop visit findings to optimize future maintenance planning
-Ensure all modules and material are maintained to strict KPIs and high quality standards
-Perform reviews of scrap material to identify opportunities for repair development and salvage
-Able to support engine test cell operations and engine acceptance procedures (including after hours)
-Respond promptly to technical inquiries from customers, shop personnel and management
-Strong interpersonal communication skills with ability to build working relationships with shop personnel
QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualified candidates should have the following:
-Must be legally authorized to live and work in Canada
-Bachelor's degree in engineering with a major in Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems or related discipline.
-Minimum 5 years of aviation industry experience in an engineering or technical program management role.
-Prior CFM56 engine maintenance experience with an airline, maintenance repair organization (MRO), leasing company, or Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) is strongly preferred.
-Proven experience working with technical documentation including contracts, manuals, work scopes, and specifications.
-Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic shop environment.
– Demonstrated ability to work effectively with complex details and high attention to detail.
-Proficiency with MS Office Suite (particularly Excel and Word) and ability to quickly adapt to new tools.
-Superior analytical, quantitative and communication (both oral and written) skills in English (French is a plus)
-Must have strong drive and initiative with ability to balance multiple tasks.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline required. MBA or A&P license a plus.
