JMC Aviation are working with an MRO company, looking to recruit a new Workshop Sales Engineer to join their team.
 
This client is an international line and base maintenance provider, operating a comprehensive level of support for commercial aircraft operators. As an independent MRO, they are able to adapt their approach to respond to rapidly changing requirements and provide services which include component repairs, overhauls, piece part manufacture, aircraft fuel tank repairs, aircraft maintenance, aircraft interiors and AOG support.

This is a Permanent Position and can be based anywhere in the UK.
37.5 hours per week, working Monday – Friday.

The Role
 
This role focuses on driving business growth for aviation workshop services through proactive lead generation, technical analysis, and client engagement. It involves interpreting complex aviation documentation, preparing accurate cost estimates and quotations, and managing the end-to-end sales process-from identifying opportunities to negotiating contracts. The position also supports internal coordination, documentation, and relationship-building activities to ensure service delivery aligns with both client expectations and regulatory standards.
 
 
 
Other Duties Involve
 
– Lead Generation and Conversion
– Proactively seek out new business opportunities targeting Workshop Services.
– Qualify leads through research, client engagement, and needs analysis to ensure alignment with service capabilities.
– Convert qualified leads into sales opportunities.
– Technical Documentation Analysis Interpret and analyse aviation documentation such as Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMMs), Service Bulletins (SBs), Airworthiness Directives (ADs), – – – – Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs), and Design/Modification documents and drawings to determine service requirements and feasibility
– Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
– Prepare detailed, customer-specific cost estimates that reflect accurate labor, material, and overhead calculations.
– Build competitive proposals that highlight unique selling points and align with customer expectations and budget constraints.
– Develop comprehensive and precise quotations, ensuring all technical, commercial, and logistical aspects are addressed.
– Lead technical and commercial negotiations with clients
– Address client concerns and objections with confidence and technical clarity
– Attend client meetings, trade shows, and industry conferences to build relationships, gather market intelligence, and promote services.
 
 
 
In order to be successful in this role the Workshop Sales Engineer will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
 
– Extensive experience in a technical sales role – it is essential this is within the commercial or military aircraft sector
– Excellent analytical skills, including cost estimation and proposal preparation.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain client relationships
– Highly organised, while demonstrating attention to detail and an ability to handle multiple ongoing leads.
– Demonstrates strong prospecting follow-up capabilities and able to see deals through from inception to completion.
– First class verbal and written communication skills.
– Ability to track personal KPI’s.
– Can cultivate and maintains long-term, value-added business relationships.
– CRM management experience
