About the Role
On behalf of our client, an established aviation maintenance and support organisation headquartered in Malta, we are recruiting for a Production Planning Lead to oversee the planning and scheduling of all Part 145 Maintenance activities. Key Responsibilities
The Role:
- Manage and oversee the planning and scheduling of all Part-145 maintenance activities in accordance with EASA regulations and the approved Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE).
- Ensure maintenance schedules align with Aircraft Maintenance Programmes (AMP), regulatory requirements, and customer commitments.
- Supervise and coordinate the planning team, ensuring all maintenance tasks are allocated efficiently and completed on time.
- Liaise with Maintenance Managers, Base Maintenance Managers, and Part-66 Licensed Engineers to optimise resources and minimise aircraft downtime.
- Monitor workloads, forecast manpower requirements, and ensure adequate coverage for both routine and non-routine maintenance activities.
- Maintain and review planning tools, systems, and processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
- Report on schedule adherence, maintenance progress, and any deviations that may impact operational readiness.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company procedures, including Part-145 record-keeping and reporting requirements.
- Travel internationally, where required, to support planning activities, audits, and other operational requirements.
- Ensure all maintenance planning activities comply with the approved MOE and EASA Part-145 requirements.
- Coordinate and prioritise maintenance tasks according to aircraft type, maintenance complexity, and operational requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of planned versus actual maintenance hours, resource utilisation, and schedule deviations.
- Facilitate the smooth handover of work between shifts and teams to ensure continuity, efficiency, and safety.
- Identify potential bottlenecks or conflicts within maintenance schedules and implement solutions to maintain operational readiness.
- Monitor workload, fatigue, and resource capacity within the planning team and maintenance workforce to support safe and effective operations.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
- Previous experience in a Part-145 aircraft maintenance planning or maintenance management role.
- Strong working knowledge of EASA Part-145 regulations and Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) requirements.
- Experience planning and coordinating scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities.
- Excellent understanding of Aircraft Maintenance Programmes (AMPs), Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), and maintenance documentation.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver maintenance schedules within operational deadlines.
- Experience coordinating with engineering, maintenance, logistics, and operational teams.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and people management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in maintenance planning software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, safety-critical aviation environment.
- A thorough understanding of aviation safety management principles and regulatory compliance.
