Planning Engineer
Location: Oxford Airport
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (flexible start and finish times)
Salary: Competitive  
   
JMC Aviation is currently seeking an experienced Planning Engineer to join our client’s team at Oxford Airport. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a strong technical background-preferably with experience on Challenger aircraft-to contribute to a high-performing maintenance environment on a temporary-to-permanent basis.  
   
Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with the operator to assess and coordinate maintenance requirements
  • Identify and source tooling and materials required to support maintenance activities
  • Develop and manage comprehensive maintenance work packs
  • Draft logbook certificates in accordance with regulatory standards
  • Review completed work packs for compliance with relevant regulations
  • Integrate operator maintenance programmes into MRO software systems
  • Provide planning support throughout the maintenance lifecycle
  • Monitor and report on labour budget utilisation during maintenance inputs
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure efficient execution of maintenance tasks
  • Drive improvements in planning processes, including time booking and work pack completion
  • Support technology upgrades and process enhancements
  • Undertake additional responsibilities in line with the role as required
 
Candidate Requirements:
  • Proven technical background within the aviation sector; Challenger experience is highly desirable
  • Prior experience in a planning or maintenance coordination role within an MRO environment
  • Strong understanding of aviation maintenance standards and regulatory compliance
  • Proficient in the use of MRO software systems
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
 
 
Technical Skills: 
Experience with industry-standard maintenance planning tools is preferred. Familiarity with Tracking Plus is highly desirable, particularly for those with business aviation experience (e.g., Challenger aircraft). Equivalent experience with systems such as AMOS, TRAX, or ENVISION will also be considered.
