JMC Aviation are working with a component repair company based in Saffron Walden (relocating to Braintree in Autumn 2025), looking to recruit a new Import/Export Administrator to join their team.
This client specialises in component repairs for a wide range of commercial aircraft from electrical to mechanical and interior to welding. This is a Permanent Position based in Saffron Walden (relocating to Braintree in Autumn 2025).
40x hours per week, working days – 08:00-16:30.

The Role
This is a hybrid role which involves managing all aspects of importing and re-exporting of components from workshops, managing import declarations and ensuring full compliance with HMRC IPR regulations. In addition, the role holder will manage and oversee the booking in and out of components and parts into the stores department ensuring accurate logging and tracking of every item via Aerotrac.
Other duties involve
Dealing with the importing and exporting of component
Prepare and process accurate import and export customs documentation including all S.A.D (customs entry) document
To ensure all shipping documents are correct and uploaded to Aerotrac (inhouse process control system) including Form1s and Photo
Ensure compliance with current UK customs regulations and procedure
Liaise regularly with HMRC, Freight Forwarders and customers to resolve issues
Maintain up-to-date internal records and customs systems for all import and export items via Aerotrac .
Keep up to date of changes in customs legislation and practices
Understand the requirements of HMRCs IPR (Inward Processing Relief) Scheme and ensure Company Compliance
To complete all HMRC quarterly reports relating to IPR
Track IPR repairs to ensure they are shipped within agreed timeframes
Adding customs values to Aerotrac
Updating Tariff Codes in Aerotrac
Uploading all customs related paperwork to Aerotrac per project
Technical Expert and inhouse coach to ensure the shipping processes are maintained and accurate in Stores.
In order to be successful in this role the Import/Export Administrator will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
Extensive experience in customs processes and documentation in Aviation MRO businesses.
Strong knowledge of UK import/export regulations
IT literate with knowledge of Aerotrac
