JMC Aviation are working with an aviation manufacturer based in Bishops Stortford, looking to recruit a new Metal Heat Treatment Technician to join their team.   
     
This is  a family run business with multiple decades of experience, they strive for excellence throughout their skilled workforce as they deal with in-house engineering and support services on business jets.      
  
This is a Permanent Position based in Bishops Stortford.
Working Monday- Thursday 7-4 and Friday 7-12.

Key Responsibilities

As Heat Treatment Technician, you will be involved with the treatment of manufactured products for a variety of our key civil and military aerospace clients. You will be responsible for maintaining Process Control Instructions and ensuring their compliance to customer and regulatory specifications along with plant and equipment evidencing documentation.

  • Heat Treatment Process ownership responsibility.
  • Ensure Process Control Instructions are aligned with customer specifications.
  • Read and interpret technical specifications, update PCIs in a controlled manner and sign off ready for peer review.
  • Ensure training is given to the heat treatments team to enable the Heat Treatments Manufacturing Operations Supervisor to ensure compliance.
  • Sign off training records with the Manufacturing Operations Supervisor to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Engineer on calibration issues, standards and specification revisions.
  • Collaborate with the Technical and Safety Compliance Coordinator on pyrometry issues, standards and specification revisions.

Candidate Requirements
 

  • Previous experience in a metal heat treatment role;
  • The ability to read and interpret technical documentation/specifications and relay to others
  • Computer literate with an intermediate understanding of the Microsoft suite of tools
  • Knowledge of LEAN and process improvement principals
