About the Role
On behalf of our client, a leading organisation in the aviation industry, we are currently recruiting for a Estimating Engineer to support their maintenance and engineering activities. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic environment with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- To estimate the manufacturing and sale cost of CNC 3, 4, 5 Axis Milling and Turning work packages
- Obtain material, bought out and treatment prices and lead-times
- Determine the best machine tool for the parts and checking capacity.
- Produce accurate costing estimates in response to customers’ requirements
- Understand the Bid/No Bid process to prioritise workload
- Read and assess engineering drawings confidently
- Preparation of quotes and submitting them. Putting a compliant bid together as instructed in the RFPs.
- Liaise with internal colleagues and subject matter experts regarding set-up, routings, and other technical aspects
- Update the bid register, and use data to improve success
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
- Previous experience in estimating and costing
- Experience within an aerospace, or precision engineering environment
- Proactive, with an ability to work to deadlines
Desirable:
- Estimating manufacturing times within CNC milling in 3,4,5-axis / CNC Turning / and minor Assembly
- Experience working with Titanium, Aluminium and Steel
- Ability to obtain material, AGS and treatment quotations, and working with suppliers and procurement to secure long term pricing.
- Prior CNC Milling and Turning experience
