Global aviation recruitment and engineering solutions specialist, JMC Aviation, has appointed Alan Barnes as its new Commercial Director, strengthening its leadership team as the business continues its international expansion plans.
Starting his aviation career on the tools as an engineering apprentice with British Aerospace, Barnes brings an array of leadership skills within the aviation sector to the role, along with well-founded knowledge and experience of the industry. Most recently, he held the position of Head of Operations at Complete Aircraft Group, and prior to that has worked in Managerial roles at Inflite the Jet Centre and Gulfstream Aerospace.
As Commercial Director at JMC Aviation, he will be responsible for business development, contracts, customer account management and marketing strategy across the company’s workforce solutions and managed engineering services.
Barnes says: “I’ve got a long history with JMC, so I’m acutely aware of the company’s reputation within the industry. Knowing the business as I do, I’m excited to get the chance to oversee plans to develop our mobile repair teams, grow into new global markets, support and expand our customer base and build on our overall service offering.
“The ongoing shortage of skilled engineering and maintenance technicians is something the industry is struggling to contend with, which is why we have such an integral role to play. Our customers rely on the flexibility and variety of services we offer, something I see becoming even more important over the coming years.”
Barnes will focus on strengthening client relationships, while refining the commercial structure of the business to support future growth. He will also continue to manage the ongoing integration opportunities presented by the acquisition of JMC Aviation by LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions in January of this year.
